Details
Become a registered participant of Lacrosse Canada by joining a club or team that is registered with your Member Association. Registered participant fees vary depending on your category of participation (e.g.: athlete, coach, official, volunteer). Overall, your participant fees help Lacrosse Canada administer the sport of lacrosse in Canada, which includes:
- Grow the sport (Did you know that the # of registered participants is a big factor in the amount of federal funding that Lacrosse Canada receives from Sport Canada? If you are not a registered participant, you are not considered an active participant and therefore less money is directed to the sport of lacrosse)
- Contribute to defraying insurance costs for operations and participants
- Contribute to administering coaching certification programs (NCCP) and developing tools and resources for coaches
- Contribute to administering officials certification programs (NOCP) and developing tools and resources for officials
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of standardized lacrosse rules across the country (Rule and Situation Handbooks)
- Contribute to the creation and upholding of equipment safety standards and the review process
- Contribute to the coordination and administration of Lacrosse Canada's National Championships
- Contribute to funding lacrosse development programs (LacrosseFITS, Drill and Skill Cards, Aboriginal Development, Wheelchair Lacrosse, etc.)
- Contribute to the communication of nation-wide lacrosse news and events through Lacrosse Canada's website, social media, and mailing list
