Please note that coaches must be Competition Introduction Certified before beginning Competition Development.
Multi-Sport Modules Each coach will also be required to complete the following multi-sport modules as offered by their Provincial Coaching Organization. Coaches complete these modules on their own schedule.
*ACM is mandatory for all Canada Games coaches
Coaches are required to complete the Coaching Portfolio to gain full certification.
The certification deadline for the 2022 Canada Summer Games is: To be determined. Coaches not fully certified by this date will be ineligible to coach at the 2022 Canada Summer Games |
When completing Competition Development Certification coaches need to attend the clinics in order as they build from part 1 to part 2. Multi-sport modules should be started as soon as possible and can be done before, during or after Parts 1 and 2.
There are several funding programs that can help coaches subsidize costs when travelling to clinics. Each Provincial Coaching Association has funding available for coaches. There are also Women in Coaching grants and Aboriginal Coaching grants available through the Coaching Association of Canada. This information was sent to MA’s in early December 2019.
