Larry Bell had a full career in the box game. He started in the East playing Junior ball for both Mimico and Lakeshore. 1970 was really memorable because his Lakeshore Maple Leafs squad captured the Minto Cup - stopping the juggernaut Oshawa Green Gaels from winning an unprecedented 8th Championship in a row.
He continued his career as a Major level player for Toronto in 1973 before turning pro as a Toronto Shooting Star in 1974 and then a Boston Bolt in the final early version of the NLL season.
Bell made the jump to the West Coast playing for the Victoria Shamrocks in 1976 beginning a 10 year portion of his career. Three of the years he was selected to the W.L.A. All Star Team. The Shamrocks would play in four Mann Cups, winning two of them.
Bell’s legacy to the game is a 20 year span of excellence playing the “fastest game on two feet”! He has many stories of his time and the players he encountered. Check out his story.
