Lacrosse Canada Announces Men’s National Box Lacrosse Roster

Lacrosse Canada is thrilled to announce the roster for the upcoming Men’s World Box Lacrosse Championship.

The 2024 Box Championships, set for September 20-29 in Utica, New York, include 28 teams in the Men’s Box Championship.

Team Canada held their tryouts last week at Canada Games Park in St. Catharines, Ontario. The team played two inter squad games, one on Tuesday, and one Wednesday morning. Both games showcased some of the best lacrosse on the planet, as both teams were filled with all-star level NLL talent.

This year’s team has many returners from the 2019 team that took home gold beating the Haudenosaunee by a score of 19-12. Returnees from that team include, Dhane Smith, Dillon Ward, Challen Rogers, Graeme Hossack, Shayne Jackson, and many more. Added to this year’s roster are the likes of Jeff Teat, Josh Byrne, Ian Mackay, and Latrell Harris.

Along with a loaded roster, Canada also brings a hall of fame coaching staff to Utica. Glenn Clark will serve as head coach, and will be joined by Curt Malawsky, and Mike MacKay as assistant coaches. Eddie Comeau is the general manager, and Sean Ferris is in the role of team coordinator. All these coaches have seen massive success throughout their lacrosse careers.

“It’s a real education for all of us,” Clark said. “We get to learn from each other and, use the knowledge we have built up over the years, so it’s a pretty cool process for the coaches as well because you’re dealing with some of the best people/coaches in the world.”

General Manager Eddie Comeau had this to say “Each player at our camp is deserving to be apart of the national team. Our coaches had to make very tough decisions selecting the team. We are now focusing on preparing the team for the upcoming World Box Lacrosse Championships in Utica NY”.

Canada will compete in group A of the World Box Lacrosse Championships. Canada will look to continue their dominance in the box lacrosse game, as it is 5 golds in 5 attempts for the Canadian National team. The road to number 6 will begin in group play against the teams shown below.
