Ashley Bull hired as full time High Performance Coordinator

Jun. 20, 2024

Lacrosse Canada is proud to announce Ashley Bull as our full-time High-Performance Coordinator. Ashley has been serving in this role for the past six months, during which she has demonstrated exceptional dedication and achievement, leading to her permanent hiring. Her extensive experience and outstanding contributions to the sport of lacrosse make her an invaluable addition to our team.

Ashley Bull's lacrosse journey began in Langley, BC, where she excelled in both boys' box lacrosse and field lacrosse. After several years competing with boys, Ashley transitioned to the girls' box lacrosse program in New Westminster in 2007. She also embraced women's field lacrosse that same year, a sport that has been a cornerstone of her career progression.

Her talent and hard work in lacrosse earned Ashley a scholarship at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, where she competed for five years and left an indelible mark. Ashley graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness and a Master of Science in Sport Administration. During her collegiate career, Ashley achieved numerous accolades, including being a 4-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Champion, a 2014 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, and a multiple-time All-MAAC Academic Team Selection. Notably, Ashley Bull has also represented Canada on the international stage, notably as a member of the 2011 U19 Women's Field Lacrosse Team, where she contributed to winning a bronze medal at just 16 years old.

Returning to her home province of BC, Ashley has dedicated the past decade to coaching women's lacrosse, currently in her 10th season with BC Women's Lacrosse. Her passion for the sport and her commitment to developing young talent make her a natural fit for the role of High-Performance Coordinator at Lacrosse Canada.

Here are a few of Ashley Bull's coaching accomplishments:

  • Head Coach of U19 Team BC (2022-present), Jenny Kyle Cup Gold Medalists 2023
  • Head Coach of the first-ever Female Team BC box lacrosse team at the 2022 Canada Summer Games, Silver Medalists
  • Member of the Lacrosse Canada Sixes Coaching Staff, Oshawa 2022, 2023.

"We are thrilled to have Ashley Bull join our team in a full-time capacity," said Terry Rayner, Interim Executive Director. "Her extensive background as both an elite player and a dedicated coach brings invaluable insight and leadership to our high-performance programs. Ashley's appointment underscores our commitment to fostering excellence in lacrosse across Canada."
