OSHAWA, ON- The Haudenosaunee finished day two 2-0, defeating England in the morning and Canada in the afternoon. It was the first time the Haudenosaunee women’s team has defeated Canada.
Canada opened the day with a 15-8 win over England at the Oshawa Civic Recreation Complex. They would go on to lose a tight game to the Haudenosaunee 9-8. Canada ends round-robin play with three wins and one loss.
Megan Kinna (CAN) and Alice Ripper (ENG) were named players of the Canada/England game, while Erica Evans (CAN) and Avery Doran (HNL) were named players of the game in Canada/Haudenosaunee.
Against England, Shonly Wallace and Dylana Williams had three-goal, four-point performances. Erica Evans and Zoey Kruger both had two goals. Milana Zizakovic, Megan Kinna, Skylar McArthur, Bianca Chevarie, Annabel Child, and Alex Matsuoka had singles. England’s Alice Ripper and Emily Gray had two goals each, while Anna Saunter, Ella Malik, Megan Whittle, and Anna Neville had one each.
Against Haudenosaunee, Erica Evans put up a three-goal performance. Megan Kinna had two, while Dylana Williams, Bianca Chevarie, and Alex Matsuoka had one each. For Haudenosaunee, Paisley Cook and Fawn Porter had two goals each, and Ally Trice, Jadie Burns, Trysten Burns, Avery Doran, and Mirabella Lazore were the other goal-scorers.
The action continues tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET with Haudenosaunee versus England, and the gold medal game at noon.
