Canada Announces 2022 Women's World Cup Coaches and Staff

OTTAWA, ON—Lacrosse Canada is proud to announce the team that will accompany Canadian athletes to Maryland this summer, in pursuit of a gold medal at the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship.

As previously announced, Scott Teeter will lead the coaching staff as Head Coach. He has put together an all-star cast of veteran Team Canada staff, as well as a few newcomers who bring valuable coaching and playing experience.

“We are so fortunate to have some of the best lacrosse minds in the business on staff,” Teeter said.

He will be joined by Gary Gait, Associate Head Coach, Assistant Coaches Caitlin Watkins, Allison Daley, Tami Rayner, and Jason Levesque. Mark Morissette will return as Team Manager, and Claire Biafore joins as Athletic Therapist.

“Their international lacrosse experience is second to none, and I look forward to working with this group to bring home the gold,” said Teeter.

Allison Daley, Associate Head Coach of the 2019 U-19 women’s world team, is excited to make her debut coaching the senior team. She last appeared for Canada as one of the goaltenders on the 2017 Senior Women’s Team, which captured a silver medal in Guildford, England.

“Any time you can represent your country, it is the greatest honour. I want to thank Lacrosse Canada and Coach Teeter for this opportunity to represent Canada once again and coach some of the best athletes in the world,” Daley said.

“The coaching staff is world class, and I’m looking forward to learning from some of the best coaches in the game. The 2022 World Championship has been long anticipated, and I know the athletes have been working hard to prepare for this moment as we continue our quest for gold.

The World Cup, which was postponed from 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, will take place in Towson, Maryland, USA from June 29 to July 9, 2022.
