Ottawa, ON—Team Canada will take the field for the first time with World Lacrosse’s new Six on Six model this weekend, October 22-24, 2021 at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, MD.
Sixes, as it’s colloquially known, sees six players per team on the field at a time, with 12 total players on a team. Eight-minute running quarters begin with a draw, but goalies will restart play after every goal. Players must be versatile, as they will play both offence and defense, and will be subjected to a 30-second shot clock. For more on the rules and regulations of Sixes lacrosse, please refer to World Lacrosse. The fastest game on two feet just got even faster.
Members of the Canadian Women’s National Field Team, led by head coach Scott Teeter will face off in a round-robin against the Iroquois Nationals and Team USA.
Tickets are on sale now through USA Lacrosse, but will also be streamed by Lax Sports Net for free online in Canada.
