Lacrosse Canada Names Dustin Dunn as Technical/National Teams Coordinator
Oshawa, ON - February 26, 2025 - Lacrosse Canada is pleased to announce the hiring of Dustin Dunn as the new Technical/National Teams Coordinator. With an extensive background as both a player and a coach, Dunn brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this important role, positioning him to contribute significantly to the growth and success of Lacrosse Canada’s Development Teams and programs.
Dunn, a product of Peterborough’s storied minor lacrosse system, enjoyed a successful playing career that saw him achieve notable accomplishments. He spent five seasons with the Peterborough Junior A Lakers, winning a Minto Cup in 2006 and being named to the Jr ‘A’ All-Star team in 2009. Dunn also showcased his talent at the collegiate level, competing in both NCAA lacrosse with the SUNY Potsdam Bears and CUFLA with the Brock University Badgers.
His passion for the sport has transitioned seamlessly into coaching. After graduating, Dunn returned to Brock University as the offensive coordinator for the Badgers, shaping the next generation of athletes. In 2019, he returned to Peterborough Minor Lacrosse to coach the U13 team, guiding them to a provincial bronze medal. Most recently, Dunn led the U17 Clarington Green Gaels to victory at the 2024 Ontario Summer Games, earning a gold medal in the 'A' division.
"I am excited and honored to take on this role with Lacrosse Canada," said Dunn. "Lacrosse has given so much to me, and I look forward to giving back by helping develop and elevate the national team programs. I’m eager to work with the talented athletes and coaches across the country and contribute to the continued growth of our sport."
In his new position, Dunn will oversee national team program development, coach education, and strategic direction for Lacrosse Canada’s technical initiatives. His leadership, coaching experience, and deep understanding of the game will play a crucial role in advancing the national lacrosse programs, focusing on player development, team performance, and fostering a strong culture of excellence across the country.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dustin to our growing team at Lacrosse Canada,” said Terry Rayner, Executive Director of Lacrosse Canada. “His playing background, combined with his success as a coach, makes him a tremendous asset to our organization. Dustin’s experience at both the collegiate and grassroots levels, along with his leadership skills, will help us continue to build on the successes of our national programs.”
Lacrosse Canada looks forward to his contributions in shaping the future of Canadian lacrosse.
