Canada Announces 26-player Roster for 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship

OTTAWA, ON- Lacrosse Canada is thrilled to announce the 26 athletes still in contention for the final roster for the 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship.

The 2023 World Lacrosse Men’s Championship will take place in San Diego, California, USA, from June 21, 2023, to July 1, 2023. Team Canada opens the action against the United States on June 21 at Snapdragon Stadium at  7 p.m. PT.

Canada will compete in Pool A, made up of top-ranked teams: United States, Haudenosaunee, Australia, and England. Canada looks to improve on their 2018 silver medal finish from Israel.

After a long and difficult selection process, which included a showcase weekend of nearly 50 of the nation’s top talent and four NCAA programs, the coaching staff has narrowed the list to 26.

“We have a very strong group of men to choose from, which has made this an extremely difficult process,” said Dan Carey, General Manager. “There are a lot of deserving players that are not in our group of 26, and we thank everyone for their commitment to this point. We are looking forward to finalizing our roster of 23 players in the coming weeks.”

Familiar names from the 2018 Israel roster include Wes Berg, Josh Byrne, Zach Currier, Curtis Dickson,  Latrell Harris, Graeme Hossack, Brodie Merrill, Ryland Rees, Jeff Teat, Dillon Ward,  and Jake Withers. The full roster can be found at the end of this release.

The final roster will be announced closer to the competition. Full event passes are available now. For those who want to cheer Canada on from home, games will be available on ESPN and TSN linearly. More information will be announced once the broadcast schedule is finalized.
